City Girls are on the top of the Quaint Music Page again. And with good reason!
The photo below was taken by Quaint's Celebrity photographer Ray Haslam when Quaint Writer Rhys Baker interviewed them a few weeks ago before a show in Manchester. We let you read that interview in January 2009. We'll also have a few signed discs to give away so DON'T FORGET TO COME BACK!

City Girls are making waves in the music industry and they are quickly gathering lots of young fans! Get to know the girls by view their Youtube videos and reading their Myspace pages. Find them all on Quaint's friend list! www.myspace.com/quaint_magazine
Quaint has a few signed and unsigned discs to give away this month too!
First and Foremost, Twisted Wheel. A Big Thanks to Picadilly Records!
Oh yes, We LOVE Twisted Wheel. And so does everyone else! Quaint has a twisted wheel signed single to give away. Phil and Ray met up with them last monday (nov. 10th) and Piccadilly Records. Laura, who just happens to be mates with rick (rick is the beyond blonde bass player) has an interview for us: Photo above by Ray Haslam
1- What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
Our stuff is raw energetic rock and roll
2 - How long have you all known each other? How did you meet? Did you all used to hangout at the infamous ‘Twisted Wheel’ club in Manchester? Me and Jonny have been mates since we were 3 and have gone to the same schools and used to play in a band called the children. Jonny met Adam when he was about 15 and used to follow him home from school asking if he wanted to be in a band with him, they had always been meaning to start one and then one day they did. We jammed some tunes for a week and then had our first gig and everyone loved it.
Unfortunately we've not actually been to the northern soul club (yet) but we've heard its awesome.
3 - When did you form your band? What inspired you to make music together? Has your music evolved since you first got together?
Since we formed the music has changed yeah, Jonny was doing the songs we did first acoustically on his own, so as we've progressed as a band we've tried out different ideas and learned a lot. We're all in the band because we love music and want to make timeless records. For me personally, oasis was the band that made me realise that normal people can make good rock and roll music, all the bands I'd noticed as a kid like led zeppelin and the Beatles looked like a different species until oasis came along.
4 - You have played at a few festivals –have you got a favourite venue? Meet any cool people? Yeah we've met a few cool people and other bands, the Gallagher’s definitely being top of the scale. We're on tour with the view at the moment and they're really top lads and a great band too. As far as venues go, we like the Manchester venues most of all, the Ritz especially, where we'll be playing again in December.
5 -Me and your cousin Danielle blagged our way backstage to Zane Lowe at Waketock this summer – we want his babies! Rumour has it he is a fan of yours – would you have his babies??!! Well he is a fan yeah but only if the babies would be roadies for us
6 -At Leeds festival this summer we got to hear a preview of your debut album – what is going to be called? You all looking forward to releasing it? We can't say what its called yet, its a secret. We recorded it in June so we're really eager to get it out there as soon as possible.
7 -You recorded your debut album in LA – did you enjoy it? Did you manage to check out the local music scene? Recording the album was a great experience, especially somewhere like that. I think if we were back home doing it there would be loads of distractions but over there it cleared our heads and we could concentrate on it 100%, and it sounds mega.
We saw a couple of bands over there but nothing that was our sort of thing really.
8 -Can you see yourselves making it big in the States?
Yeah I think our music is real and truthful, people can relate to it no matter where they're from.
9 -What’s your ultimate direction for your band? Are you seeking hot girls, fame and fortune? We're seeking timeless records but sex drugs and rock and roll are nice too
10 -What is the most rock n roll thing you have done – thrown a TV out of the window yet Does staying up all night with a load of tramps count?
?11 - Lastly, Oasis tour kicks off in October, bet that is going to be immense touring with Oasis – you all fans of the Gallagher bros? Yeah we're massive fans, as I said before, oasis made me believe that I could make it in a band. There's not many bands that can make it to their 7th album these days are there, every new band for about 10 years after they started sounded like oasis.
12 - Got any last words?
